- The jadeite is natural Burmese jade. It is well known in the trade as 墨翠. It looks black, however, it is green when light shines through.
- The quality is determined by the intensity and amount of green seen under the light.
- For a jadeite which is very translucent with even green and no natural inclusions seen under the light, it can be in thousands and above, depending on the size and thickness.
- Whereas for those that are less translucent, with mainly black or little green seen under the light, they can be in hundreds and below for a big piece of pendant.
- The round jade is of very good quality. Totally black with good lustre and translucency, yet green throughout when light shines through.
- Dimensions of jade are 10mm x 3.5mm.
